Beijing Gehua Cable TV Networks revealed that a digital television charging standard will be introduced in Beijing in three months. Additionally, according to relevant state regulations, the departments involved will in the future hand out free basic set-top boxes to Beijing households. Currently, Beijing digital television can not only provide 37 cable channels (in digital form), but can also provide 24 theme channels and 16 programs with stereo broadcasting. After digital television will be completely implemented, the number of offered channels will rise to more than 100.
